Height of Hypocrisy

United States commission for International religious freedom has over the years continuosly been concerned of India and has also suggested to expand the list of sanction list to India as a violator of freedom of Minority (Christians , Muslims etc)

US is continuously pressurizing China for its treatment of Uighurs for what it calls a genocide and somewhere projects that it has a great value for the Uighurs. The US regularly updates various countries in this list, but where is its own name?? It has yet to condemn the state of Israel for the genocide it is conducting on the Palestinians. The state which all the countries of the world recognize as occupiers has illegally occupied Palestine for more than half a century and has no plans to leave it. They build settlements on the illegally occupied territories, evicted Palestinians of their homeland, displacing them raising down their home and building settlements for Israelis on the ruins of Palestinian homes and ignoring calls of the international community and United nations not to build new settlements.

A state which has more than 200 resolutions against it and more than 45 resolutions condemning it just in the last 15 years, which is equal to the number of resolutions passed of all the other countries of the world combined, is somehow trying to say that they are acting in self defense. Acting in self defense by occupying another country where you took refuge when you were being persecuted by Nazi Germany? and still not content with it but illegally occupying their territory, grabbing land , bombing people, killing women, children, civilians and suppressing them when there is no comparison between the power of the two.

As Israel gets billions of Dollars of US aid without any condition from the US as to where it is to be spent, so they spend it mostly on making weapons and keeping the occupation intact. Still the US is not only quite but fully supporting Israel and calling it their right to self defense – just for the money, favors and influence that they get. The State of Palestine has no land army, nor an air force or a navy. The Palestinian Security Services does not dispose over heavy weapons and advanced military equipment like tanks. It does not have any defense budget whereas on the other hand Israel has annual budget of more than USD 20 billion which is the 15th in the world, has a supreme Air force, Naval force and ground force , has the most sophisticated weapons in the world, manufacturing its own domestic weapons and also being supplied by the US and Germany the most advanced weapons supplied to any country. Even after that in the Israel – Palestinian peace process, Israel has consistently demanded that the Palestinian state would always be demilitarized. Israeli negotiators demanded to keep Israeli troops in the West Bank, to maintain control of Palestinian airspace, and to dictate exactly which weapons could and could not be purchased by the Palestinian security forces(not the army, as they don’t have any).It is quite obvious that any country whose land has been occupied and the occupiers have seem adamant never to leave that land, will try to gain independence. When the occupiers are continuously building new settlements and settling their citizens on the occupied land and will not even let the occupied people have freedom of movement in their territory and snatch away their right what will the oppressed do? Everyone would say obviously they would struggle to gain freedom from the occupiers. But they have not been allowed to maintain an army , so anyone who struggles for freedom would be called a terrorist whereas Israel who are the occupiers and constantly using excessive force, bombing civilian buildings, killing civilians and bombing offices of Media so that their war crimes are not shown to the world are being called defender by themselves. The US not only gives more than USD 4 billions to Israel annually (more than any country and that to unconditionally and unaudited where they want to spend it)and supplies weapons but it also continuously veto’s any United Nations Security Council resolution presented thereby giving Israel a free hand to do whatever it wants. Former US president Donald Trump also tried to legitimize the occupation by shifting the US embassy to Jerusalem pressurizing Palestine by cutting of the US aid to them and by giving some economic relief to Palestine for leaving their legitimate land, a deal which they rejected on arrival. This shows the biased approach of the United states to the dispute and hence it seems it never be solved. Once again Israel did what it always does, try to evict the few families left from Sheikh Jarrah so to settle Israeli people there once the court orders it. They attacked the Al- Aqsa mosque (one of the holiest places of Islam) in Ramazan (one of the most sacred month in Islam) and opened fired stun guns and stormed the mosque while the people were praying. Is this not aggression on the already oppressed and is this not provoking and unnecessary starting violence? What do they expect ? People to be attacked and leave their mosques and home where they have been living for centuries for fear of death? Yes they would have done that maybe if they were so well off like the Israeli Politicians but they are not. The condition in Gaza is even more severe as they are poor, and have just barely to live and eat. Their living condition has deteriorated hardly have clean water to drink, and this has been done by Israel because of its 15 years old blockade which is imposed on Gaza where nothing can enter Gaza by land or sea without Israel’s permission.

The question is – How is it justified to turn a blind eye to Israel for the country which is so concerned about imprisonment of Uighurs in china , or freedom of Minorities in democratic country such as India has fully supported the state of Israel to become which some call an apartheid state and supported oppression and occupation, land grabbing, illegal settlements ,killings of innocents and bombing of buildings of News Channels and journalists and even striking UN marked buildings even when they are the occupiers which is recognized by the whole international community. Justice is not served on paper but by our actions. Justice delayed is justice denied and it has already been denied for more than half a century, its time to recognize that every human life is similar whether it benefits the political class of United States or not. This is a time for everyone to stand up for the oppressed , for the rich and prosperous countries to speak up against Israel and put away their monitory and economic benefit for the sake of justice and human lives. If they don’t understand this now then maybe the making of the only apartheid state in the world which systematically violates rights of Arabs living in Israel also will go on to become the legacy of the United states in future. When looking back at history US will be the the leader of the countries which enabled Israel to become the unjust , cruel, oppressor , and apartheid state that it has become and united states will never be able to remove this stain from its history just as the stain of slavery is still haunting them. The time to act for the world leaders and for every peace and justice loving people in the world is NOW.
